When to Order Custom Bags: Pack the Sample Before Approving the Size
The best time to discover a gift box does not fit is before the bag order is approved. Make a packing check part of the schedule.
Bag dimensions often look generous on a page. The surprise comes when several individually reasonable objects compete for the same space.
Settle the contents early
Collect the dimensions of the products and their packaging. If a notebook, bottle or box is still undecided, identify what that uncertainty means for the bag size.
For a larger campaign, a packing sample or reliable size reference is worth discussing before artwork becomes final. It can prevent a last-minute search for a different container.
Approve the design on the chosen construction
Print space changes with seams, gussets and handles. Confirm the actual bag model and artwork panel together. A logo approved for one shape should not automatically be transferred to a replacement.
Work backwards from assembly
If staff will pack the bags, the delivery deadline comes before distribution. Leave time to count, sort and fill them. If the supplier is packing them, confirm the contents list and the arrangement in writing.
For the next order, keep a photograph and measurements of the successful filled pack. A record of what fitted is more useful than remembering that the previous order used “the medium tote.” Browse bag formats once that packing job is clear.
