How to Choose and Order a Custom Bag That Fits

Lay out the contents, check the usable opening and carry the filled bag. These practical steps make the artwork and quotation decisions easier.

The fastest way to improve a bag brief is to put something in the bag. Even a rough packing trial can reveal a problem that a long email description misses.

Make a contents list with dimensions

Include any sleeves, gift boxes or protective packing. Mark the largest rigid item and the items that need to stay upright. That gives the supplier a clearer starting point than a preferred fabric alone.

Choose a possible format from the bag range, then check it against that list.

Try the opening and handles

A body can be wide enough while the opening is awkward for a boxed gift. Once filled, the bag may sit differently from the empty product image.

Pick it up the way the recipient will. Check hand comfort, shoulder use where relevant and whether the contents pull the shape out of alignment.

Position the artwork on the working bag

Keep important detail away from seams and folds. Review contrast on the actual fabric colour. If the bag will usually be full, do not judge the placement only while the panel lies perfectly flat.

The approval should identify the bag, size, fabric, colour and decoration. Keep the successful packing reference with the order so a repeat does not depend on memory.
